Duncan the Drum

Duncan the drum horse is visiting Fiddler's Green Horse Farm.  Drum horses are bred to carry the kettle drums for the military parade contingent.

Here, he is getting his morning rations.

Duncan and Brittany in action.

Brittany - pull his head up before he drinks the entire pond!

Ok, you don't have to put it back

We didn't know the water was this deep - thanks Duncan!

Girls at the Farm

The first nice weekend (two days in a row) got the girls and the horses out of the barn.

Well, almost out of the barn...

Out of the barn and into the pond!

Myers at Manskers

Those of you watching mindless sitcom reruns on Thursday night missed a great opportunity to learn about the War of 1812 at Manskers' Station.   Yes, we know it was a school night, but was well worth not only the drive but the loss of sleep to hear Myers Brown talk about Andrew Jackson, the regular army and the militia during the War of 1812.  The photo in the upper left is a military uniform of the regular army.  The photo in the upper right is what might have been worn by the militia from Tennessee.

All in all a great presentation and not one "and uh" in the whole 60 minutes!
